Here it is:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
~$290 shipped, because the OS is set in French and the seller can't fix it. Fortunately, I have fresh OS licenses through Microsoft DreamSpark.
These seem to go for ~$400-$450, so I think I did alright for myself.

It's got an i5, that's a good price for getting a laptop with an i5.

The OS is sent in French and can't be fixed by the previous owner? Are... are they really that special?

LOLOLOL how do you fuck up Windows 7?
Not like I've ever done that before... *glances around nervously, sighs with relief*

I stepped in an Asus once. It smelled horrible.
Oh wait that's dog shit I'm thinking of. Same difference.

You like Neons. Forgive me if I don't take your opinion too seriously.
Both of my netbooks are ASUS, as was the motherboard in my PC that I just sold.
They've all been rock-solid.

Is there something you'd like to tell the group about how you fucked up Windows 7?

Apparently. The seller is some kind of resale shop. From the auction, it sounds like they couldn't sort out putting a fresh Win7 install on it because it was in French.
Reminds me of the time I bought a used Nintendo DS Lite for $40 at GameStop (back when the DS Lite was still new) because the language was set to Japanese and nobody could reset it.

That's what I thought. A 3rd generation i5 for under $300? Nice.

I'm sure they've pulled a Kia and gotten much better but I had a few bad experiences with older ones and it just ruined the brand for me.

I once installed it in French on my old Samsung R540... and I couldn't fix it :( So I had to wipe the drive and start all over again

I tried running my PC in moonrunes for like two hours - half of that was getting it to switch back.

The motherboard I had was 4 years old, and that's about as far back as I'll trust ASUS. Older than that, they're not good. The new stuff, they're competitive on a world stage with.
